"I get by with a little help from my friends"

I always talked about the fun things that I do with my boyfriend but I never mentioned anything yet about my friends. And it is time to do so. My friends are amazing. Friendship is such a beautiful thing. Until you get married and before you get divorced of course, friends and family are the only two things in your life that are constant. And friends become your family eventually so it really comes down to one.

I had a rough 2012 start; after being in the USA for 5 years, I had to make big decisions and it did not come to me very easily. When I left France to come study here in 2007, I took it as an experience and I was excited/scared at the same time to see what will happen; but I always thought that I will go home once I am done with my degree. Well...things changed and in January when I had to make a decision between going back to school or not, getting a job or not, staying in the USA or not...things got really confusing and stressing. I have two lives now and I love both of them. It is really really hard to choose. My family and friends back home are amazing, I miss them everyday but here I have my boyfriend and a bunch of amazing friends as well. So the choice was tough but...I had a fantastic support from my family and friends. They helped me figure things out, they took the time to listen to me, dry my tears from time to time and always let me know that they will be there for me, no matter what.

Your life will always be filled with challenges but it is important to always be thankful for what you have and be thankful for the people who surround you. Remember that happiness is a journey, not a destination. I have been blessed with great friends in my life and I could not be more thankful for that.

“A good friend is a connection to life, a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world.”
